SACRAMENTO – Assemblymember Brian Maienschein has wrapped up the 2021 Legislative Session with significant victories for the 77th Assembly District. Seven of Maienschein’s bills have been signed into statewide law, and one has been secured in the State Budget.

SACRAMENTO – Assemblymember Brian Maienschein’s legislation to expand access to rapid whole genome sequencing for Medi-Cal babies suffering from rare diseases has received funding in the 2021-2022 state budget.
SACRAMENTO – Assemblymember Brian Maienschein introduced legislation this week that would qualify genomics testing as a covered Medi-Cal benefit. Inspired by the results of Project Baby Bear, Assembly Bill 114 would provide access to rapid Whole Genome Sequencing (rWGS®) to patients covered by Medi-Cal.
SACRAMENTO – The California State Assembly passed a maternal mental health care bill authored by Assemblymember Brian Maienschein this week. AB 2360 addresses a shortage of psychiatrists and an increased need for care in women and children by implementing telehealth psychiatry consultation programs into mental health treatment.
SACRAMENTO – The California State Assembly showed unanimous support for Assemblymember Brian Maienschein’s legislation regarding the statute of limitations in fertility fraud crimes this week. AB 2014 changes the statute of limitations in these cases from beginning immediately after commission of the crime to after the victim has discovered the offense has occurred.
