CalKIDS

The California Kids Investment and Development Savings Program (CalKIDS) is available to help California’s children start saving early for college. To be eligible, your child must be born in California on or after July 1, 2022 or be an eligible low-income student in California’s public school system grades 1-12. Through this program, each eligible child will receive a starting deposit into a CalKIDS account that can be used to help pay for post-high school education. Click here to visit the CalKIDS website.

The Office of Child and Youth Success in the City of San Diego was created in 2022 to ensure that all young San Diegans are supported as they learn and grow. City Employee Childcare Assistance
If you are employed at the City of San Diego, there is a pilot program to help cover the cost of childcare for children age 12 and under. Through federal grant funding, the Municipal Child Care Benefit Pilot Program will be available to eligible City employees and will be awarded monthly based on need. Your Safe Place provides services for family and domestic violence survivors, and they also work to protect children from stressful or dangerous situations and support their development.
