Senior Scam Stoppers Seminar

Learn about scams targeting seniors and how to avoid falling prey to them!

In partnership with the Contractors State License Board, Assemblymember Tasha Boerner Horvath will host a FREE Senior Scam Stoppers Seminar on Thursday, November 14. A panel of experts from different government agencies will provide tips on how to protect yourself from various types of fraud including identity theft and telephone scams, as well as financial, insurance, and mail fraud.

"One Stop Shop" for Community Health & Education Resources!

Join me for the CalFresh Resource Fair on October 22, 2019 from 6:30-8:00pm.   This event will be held at the Vista Innovation Center in the Multi-Purpose Room, which is located at 836 Olive Ave, Vista, CA 92083.

Learn about CalFresh program benefits, eligibility requirements, and sign up for the CalFresh program on-site!  CalFresh may help to stretch a tight budget by supplementing the food budget to allow you to buy healthy foods like fruits and vegetables.  Information will also be available from Vista Unified School District, Education Begins in the Home, United Healthcare and more! 

Admission is free and the resource fair is open to the community.  This is a family-friendly event!

REAL ID Community Workshop

Get the real deal on the California REAL ID.
Join me for the REAL ID Community Workshop on October 17, 2019  from 6:00pm-7:30pm.  This workshop will be held at the North Coastal Live Well Health Center, 1701 Mission Avenue, Oceanside, CA 92058. 
 
Beginning October 1, 2020, state residents must present a federally-compliant REAL ID driver license or identification card for domestic air travel or to enter secure federal facilities, such as military bases, federal courthouses, and other secure federal locations.  Representatives from the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) will present about the new federal requirements and answer questions about getting a REAL ID.  
 
Admission is free and the workshop is open to the community.  RSVP is recommended to reserve your seat.
