CalFresh Resource Fair in Vista Provides a “One Stop Shop” for Community Health & Education Resources

For immediate release:
VISTA, CA—In partnership with the Vista Unified School District, Assemblymember Tasha Boerner Horvath is hosting a CalFresh Resource Fair on October 22, 2019 in Vista to help North County residents learn about the benefits that the CalFresh program provides, eligibility requirements, and to sign up for the CalFresh program on-site.

CalFresh is a nutrition assistance program to help individuals and families buy the food they need to live healthy and active lifestyles.  It may help to stretch a tight budget by allowing people to supplement their food budget and buy healthy foods like fruits and vegetables.

“Many people don’t realize that they may be eligible for the CalFresh program.  Nearly 2 million eligible Californians are not receiving CalFresh nutrition benefits,” said Assemblymember Tasha Boerner Horvath.  “Food insecurity is a serious issue and the CalFresh program plays an important role in making sure that low-income individuals and families have access to nutritious foods.”

The CalFresh Resource Fair will be held from 6:30-8:00pm at Vista Innovation Center in the Multi-Purpose Room, which is located at 836 Olive Ave, Vista, CA 92083.  Representatives from the CalFresh program will be providing information about the program benefits, eligibility requirements and enrolling people in the program.

Information will also be available from Vista Unified School District, Education Begins in the Home, United Healthcare and more!

Admission is free and the resource fair is open to the community.  This is a family-friendly event.
