__SALUTATION__
Great news! This week, Governor Newsom signed several of my bills into law:
- AB 716 ensures that no one will receive a "surprise bill" for an out-of-network ambulance trip.
- AB 812 authorizes local governments to set aside up to 10% of their affordable housing units within half a mile of a state- or locally-designated cultural district for working professional artists.
- AB 1481 ensures that all pregnant people have access to health care for their full pregnancy while they apply for full-scope Medi-Cal benefits.
The Governor has until October 14 to make a decision on any bills that remain on his desk. Keep reading to see the full list of my bills that have been signed!
Cheers,
Assemblymember Tasha Boerner

Day of German Unity 2023
Last week I traveled to San Francisco to celebrate the Day of German Unity on October 3rd with the German Consulate General, Oliver Schramm. On this day in 1990, East and West Germany officially reunited to form a single German state for the first time since 1945. I lived and worked in Germany for over a decade, so this celebration is extra special to me, and I am honored to have been invited to celebrate with Consul General Schramm this year.

15th Annual La Jolla Art & Wine Festival
I had a wonderful time stopping by the La Jolla Art & Wine Festival to present them an Assembly Resolution commemorating their 15th anniversary. The Art & Wine Festival has become a staple in #AD77, and featured over 160 artists from across the U.S. and Mexico working in a variety of mediums. Libations were provided by over 35 international wineries, local craft breweries, and craft distilleries.
The Art & Wine Festival, a non-profit organization, has donated over $1,000,000 to schools in the area over its 15 years, and I am thrilled to have been able to recognize them on this milestone anniversary!
