__SALUTATION__
Throughout May, many of you participated in National Bike Month. Some of you biked with your children to school, and others took part in Bike Everywhere Day, riding bikes throughout beautiful San Diego. Not only is biking a viable mode of transportation, but it is also relaxing to get on a bike and ride to the beach.
Many of us in San Diego are avid cyclists, especially our kids. They bike to their friends' houses and school. I introduced House Resolution (HR) 100 on Bike to School Day to encourage our children to participate in this fun and environmentally friendly activity.
Cheers,

Assemblymember Tasha Boerner
Assemblymember, 77th District
P.S. My office is available every day to talk with you about your concerns or help connect you with resources. You can reach us at (858) 481-7704 or Assemblymember.Boerner@assembly.ca.gov.

Celebrating the 112th Anniversary of the Girl Scouts

Beyond their instantly recognizable cookies, of which Thin Mints are my favorite, Girl Scouts are also famous for their community impact and empowerment of girls worldwide. There are more than 500 million women who are girl scouts, including myself and my daughter, Maya!
This year marks the 112th anniversary of the Girl Scouts. Thank you to Girl Scouts Troop #1729 for joining us this week in the Assembly for this incredible commemoration! As the co-lead of Troop #1920, I especially want to thank all Girl Scout Troop Leaders who volunteer to lead our troops. #ACR159
Remembering San Diego Philanthropist Joan Jacobs

I asked my Assembly colleagues to join me in adjourning in the memory of San Diego philanthropist Joan Jacobs. Since moving to San Diego in 1966, Joan and her husband Irvin M. Jacobs have worked to support various organizations to make the region home for everyone. They donated to organizations like the San Diego Symphony, UC San Diego, the La Jolla Playhouse, and many others. Joan's legacy of empowerment and philanthropy will live on in San Diego.
