__SALUTATION__
Since being elected into the Assembly, I've had the pleasure of recognizing the contributions of women in the 77th Assembly District.
In honor of Women's History Month, I am spotlighting extraordinary women in my district at my Women of Impact awards ceremony on Saturday, March 16, at noon at the La Jolla Rec Center.
The event is open to the public, but RSVPs are required. To join me at the ceremony, RSVP by March 13 by 5 PM. I look forward to seeing you there!
Cheers,
Assemblymember Tasha Boerner
Assemblymember, 77th District

Utilities & Energy Assembly Committee Hearing on Utility Affordability
Utility rates are making it difficult for our community members to continue living in #AD77. This week, I participated in the Assembly Committee on Utilities & Energy to demand answers from CalAdvocates, the office that defends ratepayers, and the California Public Utilities Commission that regulates energy corporations, on the steep increase of utility rates.
Moms Demand Action
Moms Demand Action had their lobby day at the beginning of the week. They have been at the forefront of our nation's gun violence epidemic. As a mother, it is always a pleasure seeing Moms Demand Action advocating on behalf of our state's children.
Eli Lilly Biotechnology Center Tour
Last Friday, I attended a tour of the Eli Lilly and Company's San Diego facility. Since its establishment in our district, the center has created jobs with more than 200 scientists.
Eli Lilly opened the doors to their new Biotechnology Center in 2017. The new space has allowed the company to work in collaboration with various experts in the biotechnology field and accelerate the discovery of new medicines.
