__SALUTATION__

Assemblymember Tasha BoernerThis weekend, we will celebrate Veterans Day by welcoming back the San Diego Veterans Day Parade for the first time since 2019!

San Diego County is home to a large military community, from Camp Pendleton down to the Marine Corps Recruitment Depot and Naval Base Coronado.

I have had the privilege of representing parts of our military community in #AD77 since I was elected to the Assembly in 2018, and as a member of the Military and Veterans Affairs Committee. I look forward to honoring all of California's service members this weekend.

Cheers,

Hokulea Crew Celebration at the Maritime Museum of San Diego

#TeamTasha visited the Maritime Museum of San Diego this week to celebrate the crew of the Hokulea Moananuiākea, a traditional Polynesian voyaging expedition in which a team of highly skilled navigators circumnavigate the globe using only traditional navigation techniques.

The purpose of the voyage is to amplify the vital importance of our oceans, nature, science and indigenous wisdom. The Hokulea has made 15 major voyages in 50 years thanks to the Polynesian Voyaging Society. Congratulations on a job well done!

Thank you to the Board for cultivating a downtown that is vibrant and bustling with local businesses while also maintaining the character of historic Encinitas.

I look forward to seeing the work of the incoming Board members as they contribute to supporting the downtown Encinitas that we all know and love!
