Happy Labor Day! This weekend, we honor the hardworking individuals who dedicate countless hours to our communities – our teachers, nurses, construction workers, first responders, and many others.
I will be gearing up for the final two weeks of the legislative session, where I remain committed to fairer wages, workplaces, and opportunities.
I hope you enjoy a relaxing and fun end to your summer!
Cheers,

The Public Official Employment Transparency Act Headed to Governor's Desk
Transparency Wins! AB 1286 — the Public Official Employment Transparency Act — just PASSED the Assembly Floor and is headed to Governor Newsom's desk.
This bill would require elected or appointed officials to disclose job offers or employment negotiations on their Form 700 — ensuring the public knows when officials are planning their next move while still voting on legislation.
Thank you to the CA FPPC for working with me on this bill!
Defending CEQA Protections
Our most vulnerable families are demanding that we keep them housed. As we work to address affordable housing, we must ensure that we are also defending key environmental protections. Affordable housing shouldn't be unhealthy housing.
Thank you to the Leadership Counsel for Justice and Accountability for recognizing a few of my colleagues and me for our work in defending key environmental protection laws.
San Diego Chapter of Sierra Club
During the summer recess, I had several meetings, including a recent one with the San Diego Chapter of the Sierra Club. This organization has played a crucial role in preserving wilderness and wildlife. I am proud to support the issues that the Sierra Club prioritizes, such as climate resilience and the protection of our green spaces.
