It was an honor to return to the Capitol this week to be sworn in for my fourth term!
For the past six years, it has been a privilege to represent a part of the vibrant San Diego region as a fourth-generation San Diego coastal resident.

Thank you to everyone who attended my dinner yesterday welcoming legislators back to Sacramento ahead of the swearing-in ceremony! It was amazing getting to see my colleagues and meeting new members of the legislature!
Gearing Up for Swearing-In with Team Tasha
Team Tasha was excited for swearing-in day! I'm super grateful to be entrusted to represent AD 77 for another term. This marks my fourth swearing-in ceremony in the Assembly.

This week, the Assembly Floor was buzzing with excitement, welcoming back Assemblymembers and the 2024 New Member Class! Come January, we will hit the ground running, introducing legislation, and making a positive impact in all our communities!
35th Anniversary of the San Diego Convention Center
For 35 incredible years, the San Diego Convention Center has been a vibrant hub in downtown, welcoming 6,000 events and solidifying its reputation as an industry leader. This venue has created numerous jobs and brought together people from all walks of life.
These events, including notable ones like Comic-Con, have attracted over 26 million visitors and contributed nearly $45 billion to our local economy—a testament to the San Diego Convention Center's impact!
This success is made possible through the leadership of Ripp Rippetoe, CEO of the San Diego Convention Center Corporation, Board Chair Jeff Gattas, and the dedicated board members.

Harrington Heights Affordable Housing
San Diego is making strides to offer more housing for our unhoused neighbors!
Harrington Heights, a 15-story, 273-unit affordable housing complex located in the East Village area of downtown San Diego, will provide homes for homeless households, veterans, and families in need.
I look forward to the project's completion and its positive impact on our community!
Abby McLachlan
Today marks the last day of our District Intern, Abby McLachlan, with Team Tasha!
Abby is a San Diego State University junior majoring in Political Science and Women's Studies. As the Chair of the Associated Students Lobby Corps and President of Empowering Women in Law, she's a powerhouse for positive change. With her sights set on a career in public policy focused on women's health, there's no doubt she'll make waves!
Abby's favorite part of the internship was making connections and gaining a deeper understanding of state policy.
Fun fact: She was a gymnast for 14 years!

Assembly District 77: Winter Internship Program
My office is accepting applications for our Winter Internship Program, located at my District Office in Solana Beach. The internship is open to all individuals with an interest in learning more about state government and public service while building professional skills.
Interns will work as unpaid volunteers with flexible part-time hours. This role requires a three-month commitment, with flexible part-time hours and flexible start/end dates.

Rancho Coastal Humane Society - Empty the Shelters

Claim your Payment from California's Gas Settlement
If you purchased gas in Southern California between February 20, 2015, and November 10, 2015, you can submit a claim to get your money back. This comes after California reached a $50 million settlement with gas companies in July. You can submit a claim by visiting www.calgaslitigation.com.
Assistance with 2024-2025 Property Taxes
Need assistance with your residential property taxes? The State Controllers' Office's (SCO) Property Tax Postponement (PTP) Program allows homeowners who are seniors and disabled to apply for a deferred payment of property taxes on their principal residence. CalKids - Children's College Savings Program
It is back-to-school season, and it is important to think about how you are saving for your child's future! CalKIDS was created to provide Californian children greater access to higher education institutions. Newborns and eligible low-income public school students may receive up to $1,500 in a CalKIDS account. This can help jumpstart your child's savings for college and career training!
REAL ID Deadline: May 7, 2025
By May 7, 2025, you will need a REAL ID to board domestic flights and access federal facilities. To apply, gather one proof of identity and two proofs of California Residency, complete the application at California Department of Motor Vehicles, and visit a DMV office. Be REAL ID ready!

There are two free mental health apps available to all children, youth, young adults, and families in California. BrightLife Kids and Soluna are two free apps to help families raise happy, healthy young minds. BrightLife Kids is for families whose children are 0-12 years old, and Soluna is for teens and young adults between ages 13-25.
