Spirit Week During the End of Session
Assemblymember Rhodesia Ransom & Assemblymember Sharon Quirk-Silva had the same idea as me - to wear Assembly Floor Green! We have just a few days left until the last day of session, the last day of the legislative year to pass bills! Counting down the days until I am back in the district for the fall!
Team Tasha in Sacramento
Team Tasha is in full swing. Our District Team is visiting the Capitol during the End of Session, getting to experience firsthand the hustle and bustle of the last days of the legislative calendar. Bill on Health Education Materials Headed to Governor's Desk
HEADED TO THE GOVERNOR'S DESK! AB 86, my bill to standardize health education materials for grades K-8, just passed Senate Floor! Huge thanks to Melody & Emily, students from Stanford University, who pitched this idea to me earlier this year!
Cardiff Greek Festival
I enjoy celebrating the Cardiff Greek Festival every year in Encinitas. Over the weekend, I joined Senator Catherine Blakespear and Encinitas Mayor Bruce Ehlers at the 45th annual celebration! Not only is this event a great way to enjoy Greek culture, cuisine, live music, traditional dancing, and various exhibits, but it also allows people to make a difference by attending and supporting local charities.
Captain Arthur C. Fong
Team Tasha recently congratulated Captain Arthur C. Fong for his 28 years of dedicated service to our country at his retirement ceremony on the USS Midway. I was happy to gift him a flag flown over the Capitol. Thank you for the volunteer work you continue to do to inspire more youth to serve our community!
Carlsbad Regional Community Summit
The Carlsbad Regional Community Summit, hosted by the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce, brings together civic and community leaders to discuss the current state of Carlsbad and the surrounding region, sharing ideas to plan for a prosperous future. Team Tasha listened in on current labor trends taking place in Carlsbad and heard from Mayor Blackburn about the state of the city.
My team snapped a quick picture with Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Bret Schazenback!
The Joan is Here
Congratulations to Cygnet Theatre on its new home at The Joan and Irwin Jacobs Performing Arts Center, also known as The Joan! It will be the new home for San Diego's third-largest theatre company and will feature two performance spaces, the Joseph Clayes III and the Dorothea Laub Studio Theater.
There is something for everyone in San Diego, and I am excited to strengthen our cultural landscape and expand access to our local thespian community!
