Each year, over a million women in the United States experience menopause, and many more with perimenopause. On Tuesday, September 17th, from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m., I will be joined by women's health professionals to answer your questions about menopause and perimenopause, including the latest data and therapeutic options!

Welcome Back to School!
Some students have officially started the new academic year, and with that comes many new and exciting beginnings. To students attending San Diego schools - remember the hard times will pass and to be kind to one another. I hope all of our students have a great school year!
AB 2756 on Governor's Desk
AB 2756, my bill establishing a pilot program in San Diego County to help birthing parents rebuild their pelvic floor postpartum, passed Senate Floor and Assembly Concurrence! AB 2756 is on the Governor's desk waiting for his signature.
Informational Hearing: Select Committee on Biotechnology
August is life sciences month, and as a member of the Select Committee on Biotechnology, I participated in an informational hearing dedicated to climate change and the work biotechnology companies are doing right here in our state to establish a more sustainable future.
Annual Summer Luau
Team Tasha is proud of our current and former interns and for being a training ground for those who are interested in learning about the role of state government. Today, we provided an opportunity for our former and current interns to meet up at our Annual Summer Luau.
Meeting with Pacific Ridge Leadership Students
Team Tasha met with leadership students from Pacific Ridge School in Carlsbad. The students practiced public speaking and learned about legislative topics throughout the State of California. It is always exciting to hear from the next generation of leaders in AD 77 and what they think can be done to improve the current issues we face as a State.
Grand Opening: Pacific View Arts Center
San Diego is home to some of the best artists. With its many art museums and centers, community members in AD 77 are bound to find something for their taste.
Team Tasha was happy to join the grand opening of the Pacific View Arts Center with Encinitas Mayor Tony Kranz, Encinitas City Council, and the Offices of Congressman Mike Levin, State Senator Catherine Blakespear, and San Diego County Supervisor Terra Lawson-Reamer.

Janet
Join me in congratulating one of our summer interns, Janet, on finishing her internship with our office!
Janet is a rising sophomore at Canyon Crest Academy. She is the president of the Stronger Together Club at her school, an organization that supports children with special needs, and a member of her school's Speech and Debate Club. Once she graduates high school, Janet plans to go to college and major in political science. Janet told our team that she is grateful for her experience in the district office and the events she attended throughout AD 77.

Assembly District 77: Field Representative
Assemblymember Tasha Boerner is seeking a Field Representative for her District Office in Solana Beach. Responsibilities include responding to constituent inquiries, representing the Assemblymember at community events, establishing and maintaining cooperative relationships with local governments, advocacy groups and community-based organizations, organizing community events, and assisting with office administrative duties.
Candidates should possess strong public speaking and written communication skills, and have the ability to work on multiple tasks and meet multiple concurrent deadlines, work in a team driven environment and be able to find creative solutions to complex problems.
Assembly District 77: Fall 2024 Internship Program
My office is accepting applications for our Fall 2024 Internship Program, located at my District Office in Solana Beach. The internship is open to all individuals with an interest in learning more about state government and public service while building professional skills.
Interns will work as unpaid volunteers with flexible part-time hours. This role requires a three-month commitment, with flexible part-time hours and flexible start/end dates.

CalFresh Benefits for College Students
Students attending a higher education institution, such as a college, university, trade school, or technical school, can be eligible for CalFresh benefits. Students must be 18-49 and attend school more than half-time. If students qualify, they will be sent an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card, which can be used like any other debit card at the grocery store. If students have questions about what is considered half-time, they should check in with their school.
CalKids - Children's College Savings Program
It is back-to-school season, and it is important to think about how you are saving for your child's future! CalKIDS was created to provide Californian children greater access to higher education institutions. Newborns and eligible low-income public school students may receive up to $1,500 in a CalKIDS account. This can help jumpstart your child's savings for college and career training!

California Climate Action Corps is hiring!
California Climate Action Corps is currently accepting applications from Californians (18+) who want to serve as California Climate Action Corps Fellows for 11 months to mobilize communities through climate volunteer engagement, climate action, and education projects focused on urban greening, organic waste and edible food recovery, and wildfire resiliency throughout the state.
California Climate Action Corps Fellows earn up to $43,600 in living stipends and money for school for successful completion of 1,700 hours of service between September 16, 2024 and August 14, 2025.

There are two free mental health apps available to all children, youth, young adults, and families in California. BrightLife Kids and Soluna are two free apps to help families raise happy, healthy young minds.
