Happy Holidays from the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce's holiday gathering! The San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce has supported our small business community for 153 years. This event was an excellent opportunity to reflect on those successes. Congratulations on all your achievements this year! I can't wait to see what you accomplish in the New Year!
Visiting Future Leaders at Paul Ecke-Central Elementary
One of my favorite things about my job is interacting with children! This week, I had the fantastic opportunity to meet with second-grade students at Paul Ecke-Central Elementary School. We played fun games that brought the bill-making process to life and learned about the importance of voting. These students are eager and ready to make a positive impact in the world!
Eduardo Tapia Jr. Urbieta
Congratulations to Eduardo Tapia Jr. Urbieta on completing his internship with my district team! Eduardo is a senior at UC San Diego, double-majoring in Political Science and History. He serves as the Vice President of External Affairs for the student body and is the Alumni Chair of the Society of Hispanic Students in Law. After graduation, he hopes to pursue a career in public service. His favorite part of the internship was interacting with constituents and learning about the communities in AD 77.
Fun Fact: He can wiggle his ears.

Assembly District 77: Winter Internship Program
My office is accepting applications for our Winter Internship Program, located at my District Office in Solana Beach. The internship is open to all individuals with an interest in learning more about state government and public service while building professional skills.
Interns will work as unpaid volunteers with flexible part-time hours. This role requires a three-month commitment, with flexible part-time hours and flexible start/end dates.

Rancho Coastal Humane Society - Empty the Shelters
From December 1st through the 17th, you can adopt adult cats and dogs for just $50 at the Rancho Coastal Humane Society. Dogs and cats are fully vaccinated, spayed/neutered, and microchipped. Help us find these animals a loving home for the holidays!

Claim your Payment from California's Gas Settlement
If you purchased gas in Southern California between February 20, 2015, and November 10, 2015, you can submit a claim to get your money back. This comes after California reached a $50 million settlement with gas companies in July. You can submit a claim by visiting www.calgaslitigation.com.
Assistance with 2024-2025 Property Taxes
Need assistance with your residential property taxes? The State Controllers' Office's (SCO) Property Tax Postponement (PTP) Program allows homeowners who are seniors and disabled to apply for a deferred payment of property taxes on their principal residence. CalKids - Children's College Savings Program
It is back-to-school season, and it is important to think about how you are saving for your child's future! CalKIDS was created to provide Californian children greater access to higher education institutions. Newborns and eligible low-income public school students may receive up to $1,500 in a CalKIDS account. This can help jumpstart your child's savings for college and career training!
REAL ID Deadline: May 7, 2025
By May 7, 2025, you will need a REAL ID to board domestic flights and access federal facilities. To apply, gather one proof of identity and two proofs of California Residency, complete the application at California Department of Motor Vehicles, and visit a DMV office. Be REAL ID ready!

There are two free mental health apps available to all children, youth, young adults, and families in California. BrightLife Kids and Soluna are two free apps to help families raise happy, healthy young minds. BrightLife Kids is for families whose children are 0-12 years old, and Soluna is for teens and young adults between ages 13-25.
