San Diego Food Bank

The San Diego Food Bank (SDFB) keeps our communities fed. Each month, the organization feeds nearly 400,000 people. Recently, I was happy to meet with the SDFB Chief Executive Officer, Casey Castillo, to discuss the latest food distribution data and their plans for the future.
The SDFB is committed to fighting food insecurity and helping our neighbors in need. We are grateful for all the work of SDFB to keep AD 77 and San Diego County fed.

San Diego pays some of the most expensive utility rates, but community choice aggregators can provide utility customers with cost-effective options for energy use.
I met with San Diego Regional Energy Network representatives for an overview of their programs and the future of energy in San Diego.
22nd District Agricultural Association

I was so happy to meet with the 22nd District Agricultural Association to hear about their key initiatives. Their initiatives include a $15 million state-of-the-art water quality improvement, 13 acres of parking restored to wetlands, and 18 acres of land dedicated to threatened and endangered least tern nesting sites.
The 22nd District Agricultural Association also owns and operates the Del Mar Fairgrounds. The board members discussed their plans for the fairgrounds and gave me an overview of the San Diego County Fair. This year, the San Diego County Fair had over 877,000 attendees!
Thank you for stopping by my district office!

KPBS Reports on AB 66 & AB 72

The loss that Dr. Patrick Davis and his family experienced when a bluff collapsed at Grandview Beach is truly devastating.
I want to express my deepest appreciation to the Scripps Institution of Oceanography (Scripps) for working with my team and me on AB 66 and AB 72 to conduct the research needed on bluff collapses.
I hope that with Scripps' research, we can create state policies to prevent incidents like the one Dr. Davis and his family experienced from happening again.
