Swearing-In Carlsbad City Council
I recently joined the Carlsbad City Council to acknowledge the contributions of our outgoing Councilmember and to swear in those who are taking office.
Councilmember Carolyn Luna passed the torch to newly elected Councilmember Kevin Shin, and Councilmember Teresa Acosta was sworn-in for her second term!
Capitol Team in the District
My capitol team had the opportunity to tour San Diego before our district workshop. Team Tasha is ready for the upcoming legislative year!

Team Tasha is working hard to ensure we are ready to serve AD 77 in the new year! We had a chance to regroup and plan for another successful year. We are excited to continue to serve our communities and cities in San Diego.
Father Joe's Villages
Father Joe's Villages' mission is to prevent and end homelessness, one life at a time. Since 1950, Father Joe's Villages has grown into a comprehensive campus serving 2,000 people nightly. For their decades-long efforts in combating the homelessness crisis and helping those less fortunate, Team Tasha was happy to volunteer for their incredible organization.

2025 Women of Impact Nominations
In honor of Women's History Month, I need your help to spotlight the efforts of extraordinary women in the 77th Assembly District. The 2025 theme is "Moving Forward Together! Women Educating & Inspiring Generations." All people who identify as women of all ages who live, work, attend school, or volunteer in the 77th Assembly District are eligible. I look forward to reading the nominations!
Assembly District 77: Winter Internship Program
My office is accepting applications for our Winter Internship Program, located at my District Office in Solana Beach. The internship is open to all individuals with an interest in learning more about state government and public service while building professional skills.
Interns will work as unpaid volunteers with flexible part-time hours. This role requires a three-month commitment, with flexible part-time hours and flexible start/end dates.

Claim your Payment from California's Gas Settlement
If you purchased gas in Southern California between February 20, 2015, and November 10, 2015, you can submit a claim to get your money back. This comes after California reached a $50 million settlement with gas companies in July. You can submit a claim by visiting www.calgaslitigation.com.
Tax Season…Coming Soon
The countdown to tax season has officially started! Remember to start gathering your documents and see if you qualify for tax credit programs like the California Earned Income Tax Credit (CalEITC) or Young Child Tax Credit.
Cash for College
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the California Dream Act Application (CADAA) are now open for the 2025-2026 Academic Year. If you or someone you know needs help completing these applications, there are several webinars available to assist you through this process. Remember to complete your applications by March 3rd.
Assistance with 2024-2025 Property Taxes
Need assistance with your residential property taxes? The State Controllers' Office's (SCO) Property Tax Postponement (PTP) Program allows homeowners who are seniors and disabled to apply for a deferred payment of property taxes on their principal residence. CalKids - Children's College Savings Program
It is back-to-school season, and it is important to think about how you are saving for your child's future! CalKIDS was created to provide Californian children greater access to higher education institutions. Newborns and eligible low-income public school students may receive up to $1,500 in a CalKIDS account. This can help jumpstart your child's savings for college and career training!
REAL ID Deadline: May 7, 2025
By May 7, 2025, you will need a REAL ID to board domestic flights and access federal facilities. To apply, gather one proof of identity and two proofs of California Residency, complete the application at California Department of Motor Vehicles, and visit a DMV office. Be REAL ID ready!

Mental Health Apps for Families
There are two free mental health apps available to all children, youth, young adults, and families in California. BrightLife Kids and Soluna are two free apps to help families raise happy, healthy young minds. BrightLife Kids is for families whose children are 0-12 years old, and Soluna is for teens and young adults between ages 13-25.
