__SALUTATION__

Assemblymember Tasha BoernerFifty-two years ago this week, the United States Supreme Court ruled in Roe v. Wade, ensuring a woman's right to choose. This decision was overturned in 2022 and women today have less rights than we did decades ago.

It is more important now than ever that we fight for reproductive freedom. Fortunately, my colleagues and I in the Legislature took immediate steps to ensure that California remains a safe state for women. We have passed measures and allocated funding to protect the right to reproductive services and freedom.

I am proud to say that California is, and always will be, a safe place for reproductive rights.

Cheers,

CSU San Marcos University Village Student Success Housing and Dining Groundbreaking Ceremony

#TeamTasha had the exciting opportunity to participate in a groundbreaking ceremony for the University Village Student Success Housing and Dining project on campus at CSU San Marcos last week, marking the official start of this long-awaited project.

This project received $90 million in State funding to provide 500 beds and affordable meal plans for students attending CSUSM. The project will help remove barriers to college attendance for low-income students, giving them better access to a great education in our CSU system!

Point in Time Count

Point in Time Count

The annual Point in Time Count is San Diego County's official way to count the number of people experiencing homelessness in our communities. #TeamTasha joined a team of dedicated volunteers early this morning in #AD77 to take note of the unsheltered residents, and offer information about available services.

This count collects demographic data on the unsheltered population and their needs, and the data collected will be used to help direct service providers to places where the most help is needed.

Cygnet Theatre Groundbreaking Ceremony

Cygnet Theatre Groundbreaking Ceremony

This week, #TeamTasha celebrated the official groundbreaking of the site of the future new home of the Cygnet Theatre at Building 178 in Liberty Station. Cygnet Theatre was founded in 2002 and will be naming their new space the Joan and Irwin Jacobs Performing Arts Center, to be nicknamed "The Joan."

This theater is an exciting addition to our community and I am excited to attend the many performances that will take place here in the future.
