San Diego Pride Parade
In San Diego, we celebrate Pride in BOTH June AND July! Love wins all the time, and I am proud to live in California, where we have enshrined the right for LGBTQ+ couples to get married.
Thank you to Assemblymember Chris Ward and his team for hosting this event year after year to celebrate love.

7/25 - Senior Scam Stopper Seminar
Join me, Scripps Health, and the California State License Board for a Senior Scam Stopper Seminar on Friday, July 25th, from 1:30-2:30 PM at the La Jolla Library. Seniors will hear from experts on how to protect themselves from fraud. Be sure to RSVP, as the first 30 attendees at the event will receive free giveaways!
8/6 - Annual Backpack & School Supplies Giveaway
Join me for my Annual Backpack and School Supplies Giveaway featuring the Padres' Swinging Friar & PadSquad! This event will be held on August 6th from 5:00-7:00 PM at Dewey Elementary School in partnership with San Diego Unified School District, The San Diego Youth Foundation, Cox Communications, and the San Diego Padres. It's important that we make sure our kids are prepared and ready to take on the school year, and having the right resources is key to academic success. This giveaway is free and open to the public, and all school-aged students are welcome. Backpacks and supplies will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Hope to see you there!

8/15 - Deadline to Apply to My Paid Internship Program
I am seeking two paid interns to join my district office in the fall. Each intern will earn $20 an hour for their work. Under the direction of the District Director, the interns will have an opportunity to learn about the operations of an Assembly District.
Interns will gain experience working with state agencies, interacting with the public in an official setting, attending outside meetings and events alongside staff, networking with community leaders, and more.
Candidates should have an interest in learning about the legislative process and how state governments serve constituents. Candidates must possess strong written and oral communication skills, be able to work in a fast-paced team environment, and be proficient in Microsoft Word and general office tasks.

Concerts on the Green
Beginning Sunday, July 13th, the Pacific Beach Town Council will be hosting a weekly concert series, Concerts on the Green. This is a free event for everyone from 4:00-7:00 PM at Kate Sessions Park. For more information, visit the Pacific Beach Town Council website.
SUN Bucks Summer EBT
Summer is almost here, and SUN Bucks are here to help! Eligible families can receive $120 per child in food benefits to help cover the cost of meals while school is out. If your child received CalFresh, CalWORKs, or Medi-Cal during the school year, you'll get SUN Bucks automatically. Others may still qualify by submitting a school meal or income form by Sept. 2, 2025. Learn more about eligibility and how to protect your benefits here.
CalKids - Children's College Savings Program
It is back-to-school season, and it is important to think about how you are saving for your child's future! CalKIDS was created to provide Californian children greater access to higher education institutions. Newborns and eligible low-income public school students may receive up to $1,500 in a CalKIDS account. This can help jumpstart your child's savings for college and career training!
Know Your Rights
I understand that many of us are feeling angry in the face of what is happening in our local communities and across the country. Individuals are being taken from the streets without due process, and people are living in fear every day. In these moments, it is essential to know your rights. Mental Health Apps for Families
There are two free mental health apps available to all children, youth, young adults, and families in California. BrightLife Kids and Soluna are two free apps to help families raise happy, healthy young minds. BrightLife Kids is for families whose children are 0-12 years old, and Soluna is for teens and young adults between ages 13-25.

Rebates Available for Water-Saving Upgrades
