__SALUTATION__
This year, I was honored to join Equality California in celebrating their 25th anniversary in Sacramento at their annual Equality Awards.
Equality California is the largest statewide LGBTQ+ civil rights organization in the country, and I have been lucky to work with them on my bill that would provide LGBTQ+ affirming transitional housing for homeless youth, now known as AB 2007.
I am grateful for the work of Equality California and wish them success in their future endeavors!
Cheers,
Assemblymember Tasha Boerner
Assemblymember, 77th District

Julie Coker
For the final community spotlight of Black History Month, I would like to recognize Julie Coker, the President & CEO of the San Diego Tourism Authority! She joined SDTA in March of 2020 during one of the most difficult times for the tourism industry and steered the organization through the pandemic and back to pre-pandemic staffing levels, with record high marketing returns, and a 93% retention rate among SDTA members. In January of 2023, she was appointed to serve on the U.S. Department of Commerce's U.S. Travel and Tourism Advisory Board, and has received a series of awards and recognitions for her work not only in the tourism industry, but as a civic leader giving back to her community. We are fortunate to have Julie here in #AD77, and I am thankful for the work that she does for the San Diego region!

San Diego Chinese New Year Fair
Thank you to the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association - San Diego (CCBA) for another great year of bringing this cultural celebration to Downtown San Diego. Since the 1800s, our community has been enriched through the early settlers of Chinese Americans who left a legacy of tradition, education, and positive impact.
Wishing you happiness and health in the Year of the Dragon!
