__SALUTATION__
Tonight is the eighth and final night of Chanukah, and tomorrow is a day of celebration as the holiday comes to a close. The Chanukah season is a time of hope for the Jewish community, and symbolizes a light amidst darkness.
As we are enjoying the holiday season, I am constantly reminded of the wonderful community we have built. It has been such a joy to participate in the local festivities and celebrate with my neighbors and friends.
I hope that this holiday season has brought blessings and light to your life!
Cheers,
Assemblymember Tasha Boerner
Assemblymember, 77th District
P.S. My office is available every day to talk with you about your concerns or help connect you with resources. You can reach us at (858) 481-7704 or Assemblymember.Boerner@assembly.ca.gov.
Select Committee on Reconnecting Communities
On Friday, I attended the inaugural meeting of the Assembly Select Committee on Reconnecting Communities, chaired by my friend and district neighbor Assemblymember David Alvarez. We heard from community members about the detrimental impacts that highways have historically had in splitting up our communities, including parts of #AD77 along I-5, and possible steps to rebuild this divide through recreation, art, and open spaces.
Thank you to Assemblymember Alvarez and his staff for coordinating this meeting to discuss such an important topic for both of our communities.
North Coastal Legislative Action Network Meeting
Last week, I joined the North Coastal Legislative Action Network to provide a report on my work this year to the group, which is comprised of 7 superintendents and board members from school districts in #AD77.
I am always impressed by the amazing work that our school leaders are doing, and I welcome the opportunity to discuss their legislative priorities as education is a priority of mine as an Assemblymember.
City of Carlsbad Check Presentation
On Tuesday, I presented a symbolic check of $350,000 to the City of Carlsbad to fund the installation of electric vehicle charging stations in the State Street parking lot. This practical investment will benefit the residents of Carlsbad for many years to come, especially as we move toward a future with more EVs and fewer gasoline-powered cars.
I also shared with the Legislative Subcommittee a few updates on my 2023 legislative accomplishments, and my legislative priorities for the upcoming year. I am thankful for the collaboration of the City with my office so that we can continue to best serve #AD77.

I joined the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce for their annual International Tribute Awards this week, where we recognized outstanding individuals and businesses who have made an impact on both sides of the international border.
Congratulations to the University of San Diego's School of Law, 4 Walls International, and U.S. Customs & Border Protection Officer Sally Carrillo on your recognition at this event!
