Energy Affordability Bills Pass Assembly Utilities & Energy

Passes Assembly Utilities & Energy: AB 1017 Reporting Gas & Electric Distribution Capacities. AB 705 CPUC Inspector General

Energy affordability matters - and we're taking action!

My Tasha B. Specials - AB 705 and AB 1017 - just passed out of the Assembly Utilities & Energy Committee with unanimous, bipartisan support!

AB 705: Creates an Inspector General Office and strengthens oversight with the Independent Office of Audits and Investigations to ensure transparency and proper oversight of utility companies.

AB 1017: Requires gas & electric companies to account for distribution capacity in rate cases presented to the California Public Utilities Commission to ensure that utility companies are not making excess profits off of ratepayers.

With everything from groceries to life just getting too expensive, we can't let energy bills be the burden.

Adjourning in the Memory of Solana Beach Firefighter
Bret Potter

Assemblymember Tasha Boerner speaking at the podium

I rose to adjourn in memory of retired Firefighter William Bret Potter - a devoted public servant, loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Bret's adventurous spirit and generous heart touched so many, both in and out of uniform. With over two decades of service, he leaves behind a legacy of courage, compassion, and community.

Please join me in honoring his memory.
