Being back in the District for summer recess means many meetings with constituents, our Advisory Councils and, my favorite part, enjoying events recognizing the many members of our communities who volunteer their time to making life better for all of us.

It is also a time for our family to enjoy the best of our district. From camping, beach days and BBQs to Moonlight Amphitheater, San Diego County Botanical Garden and Wave Water Park, we have visited almost every corner of our district enjoying the amazing activities it has to offer.

I hope you and your loved ones are also enjoying our beautiful summer!

• Hosted my office’s first Senior Scam Stopper Seminar at the Carlsbad Senior Center to provide seniors and their families with the tools to safeguard their financial future.
  
  
  
• Celebrated Encinitas Chamber of Commerce’s CEO Bob Gattinella and Director of Operations Mimi Gattinella retirement from the Chamber. During the past decade, Bob and Mimi were instrumental in growing the Chamber’s membership to historic highs and fostering a supportive community for local businesses to thrive in Encinitas.

• Attended the annual Oceanside Museum of Art Gala to recognize Medal of Distinction recipients Marylin Agredano and Dick and Mary Jo Young for their countless hours of service and support to the Museum.

• Celebrated love and inclusion at San Diego Pride by walking with the North County LGBTQ Resource Center in the 2019 Parade.
  
  
  
• Attended the 31st Annual Deep Pit BBQ at the San Dieguito Heritage Museum and recognized Mary Lou Binkinz and John Binkinz as volunteers of the year for their work preserving the historic Teten Farmhouse at Heritage Ranch.
