Assemblymember Tasha Boerner Horvath

__SALUTATION__

Assemblymember Tasha Boerner HorvathThis week we have voted on hundreds of bills!

A few highlights include voting in favor of:

  • Transparency and reducing the profit motive in sober living homes, helping to identify the bad actors.
  • Strengthening our public education system, while ensuring great performing charter schools can still positively contribute to addressing our kids' educational needs.

All of these bills will go to the Senate, where policy committee will improve them. They will then go to the Senate floor and if they change, they will come back for approval by the Assembly before heading to the Governor's Desk to be signed into law.

Fun and exciting times!

Cheers,

Weekly Highlights from Sacramento

The nearly 700 bills that made it to the Assembly floor address everything from education and public safety to housing and the environment. Through this week and next, my Assembly colleagues and I are primarily focused on deciding which of these bills will move on to the State Senate. Those measures that receive enough votes to pass through the Assembly floor will then begin the Senate committee process. Assembly bills have until May 31st to be voted out of the Assembly and into the Senate or the legislation doesn't progress further.
