The San Diego Workforce Partnership is a local nonprofit that provides job hunters with essential skills and tools to help them gain employment and enrich businesses in the region. Their extensive list of services offer valuable assistance for both workers and businesses, including hosting career fairs, offering behavioral health pathways, connecting young adults to internships in the region, providing layoff transition services, and much more.

“The services that the San Diego Workforce Partnership offers provide incredible value to our community,” said Assemblymember Brian Maienschein. “By equipping job seekers with the necessary skills to help them become assets to local employers, the Workforce Partnership has proved to be a driving force in improving employment search and training opportunities in San Diego County. I am confident that the funding I secured in the State Budget will help enrich and broaden the scope of their services to benefit countless others in our region.”

The San Diego Workforce Partnership provides services to a diverse group of participants, 63.11% of whom are Black, Indigenous or people of color. The $10 million secured by Maienschein will help the Workforce Partnership expand their training and job placement opportunities in their Public Administration and Healthcare Sector programs, both of which have been identified as in-demand fields.

“It is important that women and people of color have the same access to high-quality jobs and sustainable wages that will create a more diverse and equitable workforce that reflects the diversity of our region.” said Peter Callstrom, CEO of the Workforce Partnership. “Assemblymember Maienschein’s visionary investment will allow us to break down barriers and ensure better opportunities for job seekers to succeed.”
