She spent time working as an Art Director for an independent film company in San Diego and was the artistic voice as the Creative Director for San Diego Woman Magazine for close to a decade. Most recently, Sonali illustrated several acclaimed children’s books, receiving features on Good Morning America.
Sonali is a longtime resident of Scripps Ranch and has dedicated her time to being a volunteer throughout San Diego County. She currently serves as an Advisory Board Member of CRY America, an organization whose mission statement is to provide a just world in which all children have equal opportunities to develop their full potential and fulfill their dreams. Sonali also serves on the Board of Directors for Mission2Help, a San Diego nonprofit organization that provides services to individuals and families with special needs, conducting food drives for the homeless and underprivileged population in our region.
Sonali is the owner and artist at Studio S, an art and design studio in Scripps Ranch. She is actively involved in numerous art programs in various local schools and in organizations that aid special needs children. Sonali’s own art has been showcased in exhibitions across the U.S., London, Germany, and India. She recently exhibited one of her pieces at ‘Love Thy Neighbor Asia Triennial Manchester 2021,’ and has worked on design products for the House of India at Balboa Park.
“Sonali’s vision and passion for art, education, and service has provided incredible value and to our region,” said Assemblymember Maienschein. “Her dedication and compassion for our community has undoubtedly inspired many, and I am pleased to recognize her as the 77th Assembly District’s Woman of the Year.”
